Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how DigiCargo, the operator of The Stevedoring App, collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects personal information in connection with the mobile app, tenant web console, platform administration tools, and public website.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account and contact information such as name, email address, phone number, employee number, organization name, role, and profile photo.
- Operational information such as consignments, carrier records, item scans, vehicle identifiers including VINs, incident reports, photos, driver assignments, key handoffs, and uploaded documents.
- Billing and subscription metadata returned by payment processors. We do not store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically
- Device, usage, and diagnostic data such as IP address, operating system, browser type, scanner hardware identifiers, session timestamps, and crash or error logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies used for authentication, session management, analytics, and optional marketing integrations.
2. Location Information
The Stevedoring App mobile application may collect approximate and precise location data when a user performs operational work such as scanning, incident reporting, yard activity, or a configured shift. Background location is used only when enabled for an active operation and is accompanied by a foreground notification where Android requires it.
Location data is used for operational audit trails, scan and incident verification, geofence or yard validation, driver and asset assignment, diagnostics, and fraud prevention. We do not sell location data and we do not use it for advertising.
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, secure, support, and improve the Service.
- To authenticate users and administer tenant accounts.
- To process billing and prevent fraud.
- To create operational, audit, consignment, carrier, scan, incident, and reporting records.
- To communicate about service updates, support, invoices, and account notices.
- To comply with legal, tax, security, and regulatory obligations.
4. Legal Bases
We process personal information under contract, legitimate interests, consent where required, and legal obligation. These bases are used to operate the Service, support subscribed organizations, protect the platform, and comply with applicable law including POPIA and GDPR where applicable.
5. How We Share Information
We share personal information only with service providers that process data on our behalf, authorized administrators of the organization that owns the account, regulators or law enforcement where legally required, and successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Service providers may include Firebase, Google Cloud, Railway, MongoDB, Paystack, notification providers, analytics providers, and support tools. We do not sell personal information.
6. Retention
We retain account information while an account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Operational records are retained according to the owning organization's retention, archive, legal, and reporting requirements. Some records may be retained after account deletion where needed for audit, tax, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, or legal compliance.
7. Account And Data Deletion
Users can request account deletion in the mobile app or tenant web Account page. The current public deletion instructions are available at https://www.stevedoring.app/account-deletion. Deletion requests remove or deactivate the user account where possible and preserve legally required operational or audit records only where necessary.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transport, role-based access, audit logging, authentication controls, and backups. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or request portability of your personal information. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
